[Adelaide was the only healer Galadriel knew in this world and, unfortunately, was beyond her ability to reach directly. She had exhausted far too much of herself with the Warden and whether it was sorrow or fear or simply this place, she could not reach beyond the walls of the library, not with clarity. Even attempting to locate someone she could not see was taxing. Pain lanced through her head and she sagged heavily into the chair she'd hobbled to before the Warden fled.
She could not request her friend's assistance, not in such certain terms, but once she found the faint feeling of Adelaide's mind, the color of Compassion's will, she did what she could. Galadriel was not fond of vagueness, not in situations like these, but the most she could manage was emotional beckoning, wordless and with a firm sense of her location. She had neither the strength nor the will to maintain it for long and could only hope the human would yield to the sense of unease.
She could have waited, she realized, until her legs would carry her and she could seek the healer out, herself, but she was...afraid. It was uncommon, but not so terribly rare, and it colored her judgment. She couldn't deal with what had frightened her, and so her fear was left no other outlet but this. Were she more able, she wouldn't have been shocked to find it colored her wordless message, itself.]

Dear Council Member Adelaide LeBlanc,
I am writing to you with a proposal that begs the support of the Mage Council, regarding the combat training of both the mages of the Inquisition as well as the Templar recruits, as one.
Our foe has, at his disposal, armies comprised of both mages and Templars, all of which use deadly force bolstered by their unique talents and traits. Myself and Knight-Captain Maria Hill have discussed at length the possibility of joint training sessions that include both mages and Templars, with an aim to encourage basic combat training through to training their unique skills and resources together for battle readiness.
With respect to recent tensions, we believe that these joint sessions will assist to build trust and respect amongst the Inquisition and contribute towards the bridging of difference between mage and Templar. Practically, they must maintain a working knowledge of how the other fights if they are to work together, as well as become versed in what they can expect from their enemies. In particular, many mages from Circle origins have never professionally trained towards needing to fight either hostile Templars, nor other hostile mages, and it is of the utmost importance that they learn if we have a hope for victory.
Ideally, we shall not kickstart another mage and Templar war, but if hostilities continue to simmer, we will defer to you and your guidance as to how to handle any problems that might arise. The Knight-Captain and myself will oversee these sessions so that they are conducted both safely and usefully, with participants from both factions would would be most willing to cooperate.
From the Council, we ask only for your support at this time. We are happy to discuss in person and have our proposal represented to the wider Council, or address them as appropriate. This correspondence has also gone to Council Member Daylen Mathan.
Many kind regards
Altus Dorian Pavus
Knight-Captain Maria Hill

I've something to attend to - I will be gone to Redcliffe a short while. Set something aside for me if we've a uniform before I get back, won't you?
Am I to be civilized for the comfort of Circle folk?
[She doesn't sound accusing. She sounds a bit depressed, actually.]

Your letter is dispatched and I am returned. If I were to lay my head in your lap and whisper the secrets of my laundry, would you be so kind as to take this appalling wine headache from it?
( benevenuta sounds hungover. but not displeased - whatever came of the trip, it isn't only a mouth that tastes like something died in it. )

[A courier arrives to Adelaide to deliver a letter, along with a bottle of wine -- specifically not Fereldan, since he is a man of taste and presumes she is as well -- and a small collection of fresh flowers delivered to her.]
[There's a knock at Adelaide's door in the morning.]
Sending crystal, backdated to sometime after First Day?

Adelaide, when you have a moment I need to speak with you. A friend gave me a first-hand account of the Templar meeting and it sounds like they're going to pull shit again.
Madame LeBlanc,
I have read a few of your pamphlets on the subjects of mages. I am no mage, but I am extremely curious and cannot seem to find answers in the library. I thought it best to speak with a mage and scholar such as yourself. If you would meet me on the second floor of the tavern at noon, I will provide refreshments.
Thank you graciously for your consideration.
Your Obedient Servant,
Senior Warden Nathaniel Howe

I hate to ask when you're already swamped, but think you could make a house call? Kas blacked out -not passed out, but there's a chunk of time that he just doesn't remember- while on assignment in that quarry and he's been having terrible headaches since then. I'm worried about his incident repeating itself and he's panicking about it compromising his scouting position. Whatever you can do to put his mind at ease, I'd appreciate it.
Madame LeBlanc,
A question if you will humour me and pardon my ignorance, but you must surely be the expert on ice magic within Skyhold, as well as part of this request perhaps being a surprise for Korrin, if it is possible.
Can magic be used to freeze food and then unfreeze it again?
Yours, in gratitude,
Araceli Bonaventura
[What a formal not for a dumb thing Araceli why are you like this.]

There's a knock. When the door opens, Pel is holding wine and looking sour.
Red isn't exactly a social butterfly. Oh, sure, she shares the barn amicably enough and she laughs and smiles and even on he rodd days working in the tavern she's very friendly, but she's not really social. What can she way? She's the lone wolf type, or something.
Anyway, she's sort of being social and sort of not, knocking against a set of shelves near Adelaide's desk. Her shirt, black cotton, is whole and unmarred by blood or battle, the deep, dark red leather trousers cleaned up so they nonlonger have that tragic battle vibe. All in all she looks cleaner and less brittle, and she has something under her arm.
"This a bad time, Captain?"

Holy phone typing, Batman. Making it rain typos over here.

He ducks in as soon as he's back, intending to take a look at the tent and straighten anything that needs it from his absence, trying not to think too hard about how he's yet to hear anything. Martel would tell him if she's dead, so no news is good. The sight that meets his eyes stops him in his tracks, and all he can do is stare at first. She's here. She's here, she's fine, she's safe, and she hadn't said a word.
"You..."

crystal; after a couple of days in the fallow mire. send help this is out of control.

Captain, I have an update for you. It's really a huge deal, actually, you might need to be sitting down.
( It could sound serious, except something is giving her away. )
It's raining. I know, I'm shocked, personally.

Hey— Adelaide?
( There is just the faintest hint of strain in her voice; she is in a lot of pain and taking considerable pains to try and keep it under control. Rain cannot be heard - she is out of the Fallow Mire, now, and in the Hinterlands.
Earlier today some Inquisition requisition folks will hopefully have also delivered an obscenely huge stash of herbs and seeds and other requested materials. )
Is now a bad time?

[He finds her, not long after their escape from the Fade. She'll have questions, he expects — he wants to answer them, before too much time has passed.
He appears just outside her field of vision, crouched, his eyes trained on the ground.]
Passing nods in the Circle corridors. A name tied to a reputation, tied faintly to a face.
You knew his face.

( on the day of this thread )
Captain,
( holy wow Ruby, no amount of cheer can cover the fact that she sounds sort of terrible, voice rasping a little with a mix of exhaustion and straight up pain. )
Shouldn't take too long to be back at Skyhold. Found a kid on my way back. Got your order from Redcliffe.
( She is totally arriving later than she said she would, maybe by a day. Or three. )
So how are you today?

Hey, Captain. Exciting updates from the Emprise.
( bc that's where she's gone for the Emma hunt during my hiatus it makes total sense shhh
She probably promised to do regular shard reports, idk. )
So the ring, right? It's making some of these plants grow right up through the snow. Just random little flowers through the snow. It also is making this elfroot grow extra hardy, so if there's anything rare here you need back at Skyhold just let me know.
What's new?

[A little mage kid comes running to Adelaide with a scrap of parchment, upon which is written in a shaky hand:]
You do healing, right? Please come to my lab at earliest convenience. Mara knows the way. -RG
[Mara is the kid. She grins.]

Do you think I'm the same as a shape shifter?
